Much like Left 4 Dead’s safe rooms, you pop into safe chambers and each player can then vote to move onto the next task. What’s cool is that these tasks split each map into three segments. It’s up to you whether you attempt to clear all three and risk death, or tackle just a couple and get the heck outta there. Each mission is split into three parts, all of which set you a task randomly plucked from a batch of other tasks. You choose a mission, select your Operators, and drop into plague-ville. In this game, you and two other pals team up. It’s easy to get lost in buzzwords like Containment Zones and Incursions and Milestones when talking Rainbow Six: Extraction because it’s structured in a very particular way, but I'm going to sum it up for you in plain English. Our ragtag crew wasn’t quite prepared for how challenging this game could be. That’s of course when we actually earned EXP. A total of 12 Operators were ours to test out and we’d earn EXP to see how progression worked. No single-player allowed, but for the most part, Ubisoft let us run amok in this zombie-riddled land. In my hands-on with Rainbow: Six Extraction, I got to sample several of the game’s early missions with two other journos. This makes for a tactical spin on zombie-slaying that truly rewards teamwork, and it’s wonderful as a result. You see, the zombies here may be fewer in number, but they don’t mess about. But no, I was totally wrong! After an early hands on with the game, I’m now at ease, at least when I’m at a safe distance. Signs pointed to a shaky spin-off from Rainbow Six: Siege's popular Outbreak mode. You know, after it was announced as Rainbow Six: Quarantine, changed its name, dipped under the radar for ages, then re-emerged with news it was being delayed. As is custom, the reveal of Wind Bastion's attacker should follow this week, before the pair get officially detailed at the Pro League Finals this weekend.I was a little worried about Left 4 Dead-alike Rainbow Six: Extraction. The first teaser for Kaid, seen above, shows off the gadget in action, though not much else. The obvious advantage to this is that it'll prevent breaching charges from being placed at these spots. The defender uses a spider-like gadget that can electrify reinforced walls and hatches, barbed wires, and even deployable shields. Kaid is described as a “traditionalist” who doesn't overly rely on technology, and feels that doing so would be "an Operator’s downfall." "He teaches all incoming soldiers to be self-reliant."Īmong his students is Wind Bastion's new attacker. Over the years, his teaching methods and leadership style have proven to be effective," Ubisoft explained. "Kaid abides by strict values and he leads by example. Kaid was tasked with training the country's special forces at the fortress, and has since became the most successful commander of its training grounds. Kaid is a captain in Morocco's Royal Moroccan Gendarmerie, who later became the commander of the Kasbah Sehkra Mania - the DLC's Fortress map. Rainbow Six Siege's next defender is Jalal “Kaid” El Fassi, and we now know a little bit about his background thanks to a new blog post. Rainbow Six Siege's Operation Wind Bastion is bringing two new Moroccan operators to the roster, and the defender of the pair has been officially revealed.
